2nd thrifted dress...the pink blinding-people dress

This is the second dress I bought at Mon amour 77.. and this one is pretty hard to handle.
The owner of the shop told me it has the Yves Saint Laurent pink, a very very flashy pink from the 80's that I adore
It also has little golden studs on the front..

I first styled it with black, the more reasonable option, not to blind people on the streets : black tights, black cardigan, black belt...

In fact, what I would really go for is pink and red... I love to combine warm and flashy colors but it's not so easy to wander the streets of Paris like this.. especially since I'm also plus-size.. that would be 2 reasons to be "checked"...
I had a drink with a spanish friend last night and she used a very perfect word to describe what people do in Paris : they "check" you...
It's really parisian... I haven't experienced it so strongly elsewhere...
No matter if you're plus-size, skinny, well dressed or not...
It's nearly like a reflex and it makes you feel really jugded and in a rather bad way

In short, here is the second outfit : the pink dress and red tights, red cardigan and red belt...

wtf outfit again

On my way to a bar to meet some friends, I was oscillating between comfy outfit and a little bit dressed up.. so I considered it ended up in the wft outfit category.. but I kinda like it.

I wear my Beth Ditto favorite jumper, with a Asos red ponti dress that I turned into a skirt and I put on comfy and warm shoes!

Here is also a detail my jewellery : the cartoon eye rings from Tatty Devine..

pumpkin legs

Today I tried a new styling of the purple corduroy dress from Asos... which I really prefer to the last one
and I pulled my usual ace card : the magic red belt.
I also wanted to wear the orange neon tights that are not so easy to match...
I really had the feeling that orange, purple and red would go well together.

Late Zombie party

Yesterday, I was invited to a Zombie Party..I know, it was one week after Halloween!!

It was not really a costume party but I tried to match the theme as close as possible by wearing my skeleton hands sweater clip and my skull earrinsg and bang..

I also focused on red and black clothes.

Giving in the cape fever

I was very tempted by the Kaki cape from Asos since I first saw it on their website.. Then la pocket rocket did a nice outfit post and was even more tempted.

I waited for a while to get a little bargain and here it is... I was a bit disappointed by the warmth of this cape because on the website, it looked much more thick. In the end, it is more of a in-between seasons clothe.

Today I wear it with a very simple and automnish outfit, with my chocolate necklace and my eclairs earrings.

Very late Ditto post...

Of course, as any sane fatshionista, I jumped on the Ditto collection as soon as it was online.
Especially because last year I've had a bad experience, my package got lost and once I realised it, all my favorite pieces were sold out .. (I'm still looking for the purple sequin dress on ebay but alas...haven't found it yet..)

So this year, I bought my favorite piece on the 1st day. I usually always wait for a reduction code or for the sales, but I was sure the polka dot dress would go realllly fast.

I'm still so pissed about the black and red chevron dress policy that Evans did : exclusivity.
Come one! Evans is not a haute couture brand.. I thought it was unnecessarily frustrating for us, fatshionistas.

The dress is just perfect, but a bit too short on me. I've combined it with the pencil black skirt from Asos and of course, my usual red belt.
I also bought the black Ditto leggings. They are nicely high waisted but after having worn them for one day, they get a little bit too loose. For the moment, nothing has beaten the black Carmakoma leggings!

pencil skirt : Asos Curve (size 24)

new corduroy dress

I bought recently this purple corduroy dress on sale on the Asos website.
It is not spectacular but comfy for the winter season.
It has no sleeve so I have to wear it with a cardigan.

Winterisation : the Hawaian Dress ***retro-blogging***

So, here is my second "winterisation" attempt.. with the Hawaian dress from Asos I love so much.
As the background of the dress is black, I think it is easier to remix for a colder season.
This dress being really too short, I can't wear it without a skirt, or I feel uncomfortable.
I added a black short bolero with the crossboned sweater clip.

September Bonus ***retro-blogging***

A quick post just for a new accessory : the grey feather cape from Asos...that had been succesful on the fashion blogs

I haven't had the chance to wear it yet... it is quite dressy
I love it and couldn't resist showing it on my blog too!

a very good fashion faux pas ***retro-blogging***

Ok... this is what I've previously called a" WTF outfit"...

Those kind of photos reminds me that I should really buy a big big BIG mirror instead of taking snaps of my outfits and going in the streets dressed like this.

I feel everything is wrong with this outfit... from head to toe...
Let's try to be scientific :
the jacket doesn't match the dress
the dress is too short to be worn without a skirt
the ski pants doesn't match with the wedges
the flower in the hair doesn't match the global outfit

Let's all learn from my mistakes!!

jacket : H&m (size 50)
altered sequin ribcage dress : Rodarte for Target
ski pants : Asos (size 22)
buckled wedges : Jeffrey Campbell (size 9)
studded bag : a little shop in my street, no tag
black rose in the hair : H&M

One shouder experience ***retro-blogging***

Woowwww...
I've been away quite a long time now and I do have some outfit pictures I took during the last 2 months, piling up in my harddrive..
They are screaming to be freed, so I couldn't resist adding them to my blog before going back to normal posting.

I don't know if it is "blog orthodox" but I have decided to ***retro-blog*** those outfits. It will be indicate in the title of the post to prevent from confusion...

I hope I'll update everything before posting my new exciting new fall clothes..

So, here I go....

This is the One shoulder dress from Asos I bought this summer.
The bottom is comfortable, it is a double draped skirt, so it doesn't stick too much to the belly.

But the top is a bit loose for my chest (which can not be considered small though...)
The strap keeps falling from the shoulder and the back keeps revealing the bra.
I had to be very careful all day long. One solution might be to shorten the strap.

Nevertheless, it is a very nice summer dress, that can be dressed down with a little cardigan or bolero.
I might consider how to "winterise" it soon.

casual outfit

This week end, I went to Lille.
Not having any holidays this summer, I will try to escape Paris every week-end till end of august... Jumping on a train really gives me the sensation to be on holidyas, just leaving this crazy town, even for one day, is ok for me...

In Lille, I have a ritual : I go to M&S to buy tights or legging and then I go to the Inspire section of the Euralille New Look.

I bought 3 tops on sales : here is the 1st one, with my eternal jean skirt and a pair a camel shoes from Asos.

I noticed this lovely black top with cream ribbon on the short sleeves.. but it was a little bit too expensive... I take the risk to wait till the next sales or till I get a coupon...

jeans skirt : H&M (size 52)
leggings : M&S (size XXL- 50/54)

the Hawaian dress again

I'm officially Asos addicted..
what else to say?

this time, I combined the hawaian dress with a skirt rather than with a legging... it fits better and creates a better line on the figure.

Nothing new outfit

I alreay posted this same outfit a few week ago... but I couldn't resist posting it again...
repetition is also part of the fashion process

I added this large wooden balls necklace from H&M.. I usually prefer small chain necklace but this reminds me of Tahiti and their big natural jewellery

pencil skirt : Asos (size 24)
shoes : I don't remember..

Working girl circa 1987

In my new Asos package, I received this grey pencil dress..it fits a little better than the red dress from yesterday, although it is the same size...

The lenght is also a bit too short.
I added this large red belt to pimp the dress up.

It will do a perfect mid season outfit!

New Asos order

Ok, I have to admit... I'm becoming obsessed with the Asos Curve collection... I don't know why, they really develop a good range of clothes..and it is pretty affordable, compared to ugly plus size collection you can find in France...

the big minuses :
- you can't rely on the size chart... I oscillate between a 22 and a 26... and sometimes a 22 is to big
- the short dress are way too short, they are most of the time just tunics or tops, you have to wear them with a skirt or a trousers. I prefer the knee length of Evans but the pattern are not so cute..

here is the perfect illustration : this is me in the red dress... wow... not flattering at all, too short and too tight

I combined it with the black tulip skirt from Yours, then it is wearable....

I also really enjoy the Asos shoe and accessories collection... The shoes are comfortable and the accessories are so kawai!

Detail of the studded black sandals on my lunar tan....

skirt : Yours (altered size 24)

heading to a forest art festival

This week end, I went to an art festival in the middle of a forest in the east of France...
So, that is why you see black leather boots in july.

I anticipated the cold weather of a night in the forest and God knows I was right... I was really freezing all night long, till we found a shelter in a ancient convent..

So I wore this floral dress I adore with my black skinny jeans and the boots above the jeans...This is also the 1st time I can wear the boots over the jeans and not under... I just love Duo, they propose a perfect range of wide calf boots. I'm just waiting that they add a red model in their catalogue.

this outfit is nothing specially new, just a new arrangement of old clothes.

black skinny jeans : Asos (size 26)
black leather boots : Duo boots (size 40)

before and after...

Before : an awfully sweaty me, trying to escape the heat hiding in my apartment in Paris

After : a fully refreshed me, back from the beach in Normandy..
it was a bliss... It is also my 1st outfit picture outside of my apt

Unfortunately, I'm already back in Paris..

I'm really happy I transformed this old pair of white jean into a skirt.. It is a perfect match for too-short dress (as the floral one from Asos) and too-large vest (from Evans).

blue beach vest : Evans (size 24)
floral dress : Asos (size 22)
white skirt : reformed white jeans H&M (size 50)
